Sully Interviews Crusoe the Celebrity Dachshund

Crusoe is one famous celebrity pup who has travelled the world and even has a New York Times bestselling book, Crusoe, the Celebrity Dachshund: Adventures of the Wiener Dog Extraordinaire. His Instagram is chock full of photogenic pics and vids that kept me amused for hours. He is not afraid to don a costume and smile big for the camera. I was fortunate to get to interview this adorable fella and learn more about what makes him tick!

——

Sully: First off, what’s your favorite part about being a celebrity dog?

Crusoe: There’s a lot of good parts to being a celebrity. I especially enjoy how much time I get to spend with my Mum and Dad. Being a celebrity has allowed Dad to quit his job and work for me (mwuahahaha) full time at home. Plus my Mum already worked at home, so now the whole family is always together. Plus we travel a lot for the blog and appearances and whatnot, so that’s always fun because I love exploring new places. And lastly, being a celebrity, I get a lot of free doggie stuff, so I’m never short on new toys or treats.

——

Sully: I think I look like George Clooney! What human celebrity do you look like?

Crusoe: Speaking of traveling, I’ve actually seen George Clooney’s vacation home in Lake Como, Italy while I was there on travels! That really helped me visualize what I’m striving to achieve 😉

I don’t really look like one celebrity in specific; I’m my own iconic figure in the celebrity world that can’t really be compared to anyone else. If I had to choose…it would have to be Bradley Cooper.

——

Sully: Do you have a favorite outfit?

Crusoe: I don’t mind all my outfits. Hard to say if there’s a favorite, but I do enjoy fighting crime as BATDOG. In the winter I like to wear a nice cozy sweater though!

——

Sully: I love to chase my cat bro, Murphy. Do you have other fur faces in your house that you play with?

Crusoe: I have a half brother named Oakley who lives with the parents of MY Dad in Toronto. I get to see him every couple months, which is always a blast. He’s pesky at times, goofy all the time, but still a lot of fun to hang out with when given the opportunity.

——

Sully: What is your favorite trick?

Crusoe: Most people think that since I’m a celebrity, I’m somehow specially trained. Not true – I’m just a super laid back, easy-going, and cooperative dog. However, I am still well trained as a regular dog – I know all the basic commands plus some more fun ones like Bang! and rollover.

——

Sully: What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done to get a treat?

Crusoe: I do a lot of things for treats. A lot of my photo shoots are treat-motivated, so in that sense it would be true to say I once flew a plane to get a treat.

——

Sully: What’s your favorite thing to bark at?

Crusoe: Although I love squirrels, my actual favorite thing to bark at and chase are snowballs. And if I had to choose a “creature,” it wouldn’t actually be squirrels but would be partridge. For some reason I just get super excited when I stumble across a partridge in the woods.

——

Sully: When your humans are watching television, what’s your favorite TV show or movie to watch?

Crusoe: Depends. Perhaps Animal Planet’s Too Cute, or Dogs Make Me LOL – pretty much any show that I’ve appeared in myself. (Hey, at least I embrace my vanity.)

——

Sully: If you could do any human job, what would it be and why?

Crusoe: Funny, someone just asked me this the other day. My answer to them as it is to you, is that I can’t do just one thing. Just like my blog and adventures and many characters I have, I couldn’t ever picture myself doing just one thing. I am a master of all trades, a sailor of all seas, an explorer of all frontiers.

——

Sully: When your humans are at work and you decide to surf the internets, what sites do you love to visit?

Crusoe: My humans are always home so I never have a chance to really surf the “taboo” sites of the internet while they’re away. I mainly just like chatting with my fans on my social channels like Facebook, Instagram (@crusoe_dachshund), and just recently, Snapchat (@celeb_dachshund).

——

Sully: Are you thinking of writing another book? If so, what will you write about?

Crusoe: I’m hoping so for 2017, yes! I’m not really sure what it would be about yet, but I’m sort of leaning towards the idea of doing a book on my travels and overall “worldliness as a wiener dog.” Fans really seemed to enjoy our first book, so I’m excited at the prospect of following it up with a second!
